The University of Delhi (DU) has officially announced a special examination opportunity for students who missed their semester exams in May 2025 due to disruptions caused during Operation Sindoor.
In a statement issued on July 1, Professor Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, the Controller of Examinations, confirmed that both undergraduate and postgraduate students from the 2024–25 academic year who were unable to appear for exams scheduled on May 13, 14, and 15, can now reappear through a special provision.
“All concerned students are informed that the last date to submit the Google Form for the special examinations is July 10, 2025 (Thursday), by 11:59 pm,” the university notification reads.
🔍 Who Is Eligible?
This special exam is exclusively for students who missed their exams due to Operation Sindoor-related disruptions. To qualify, students must submit valid documentary proof demonstrating that they were unable to reach Delhi on the exam dates.
🎓 Ensuring Fairness
Professor Tuteja emphasized that the initiative is meant to protect students from academic penalties arising out of unforeseen events. At the same time, the requirement for documentation ensures transparency and fairness in the process.
📅 What Happens Next?
The rescheduled examination dates will be announced soon by the Examination Branch. These exams will be conducted only for the verified applicants who submit the necessary form and proof before the deadline.
This move is set to benefit numerous students whose academic progress was affected by the unexpected disruptions, ensuring they do not lose a semester due to circumstances beyond their control.
